A few years back, Sheri received a 23andMe kit as a gift. This was something she was interested in to learn more about her ancestry. As it turned out, she received my results which said she was 50% Ashkenazi Jewish. In addition, the test also said that it detected a BRCA2 variant. While that wasn’t a diagnosis, it was certainly something that Sheri thought about. After a few years, Shei was diagnosed with Melanoma. Shortly afterward, it was confirmed that Sheri was BRAC2 positive. This has led her on a medical journey that she hopes to share to bring awareness to her diagnosis.

Sheri joins Unfiltered Discussions to talk about her journey.
