From Combat to Calm: A Veteran’s Journey with Service Dogs, Coffee & Psychedelic Healing

Steven Ferguson is a Marine Combat veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom, having served 9 years in the Marine Corps as an infantry Marine and combat instructor. During this time, he was deployed twice to Afghanistan and once to Europe. Steven was medically retired from active service in April 2019 and has since founded and co-founded five ventures. Among them is Honorguard Coffee, a mission-driven brand inspired by my experience training my service dog, Venus, and her impact on his life. 

Honorguard Coffee is built around utilizing a portion of the profits from the sale of coffee to pair veterans with service dogs. These dogs play a vital role in addressing the veteran suicide crisis, and as such, Stevan and his business partner are currently training a service dog for a Marine they served in 2013. In addition to Steven's entrepreneurial endeavors, he is actively involved in the veteran-focused nonprofit community, providing consulting services to enhance the reach and operational efficiency of organizations dedicated to supporting veterans.
